As a busy student, sometimes when I get home, I'm really hungry but don't feel like slaving over the stove for more than ten minutes. Which is why I go to my default meal, a grilled cheese sandwich. The beautiful thing about it is that all of the ingredients are usually right in your fridge or kitchen, and while you are waiting for it to cook, you can sit down and relax and, um, study.
There are several variations for how you can make your grilled cheese sandwich. The first thing is to choose the type of cheese that you want. American, cheddar, swiss, provolone...the choices are endless. Lately I go with cheddar, but American cheese takes me back to when my Dad would make me grilled cheese.
The second thing you should figure out is the type of bread you want to use. I'm a slight health nut, so I go with whole wheat bread, but again, the possibilities are endless. Sourdough, French, white, and ciabatta are just a few of the choices.
Lastly, you need to decide if you want your bread to be crunchy or not. If you prefer no crunchiness, just spray your pan with cooking spray. I usually brush olive oil onto the bread, but butter or margarine is good too.
Then you put the sandwich in a pan over medium heat (any higher than that and you'll burn the bread before the cheese gets a chance to get melty) and let both sides get nice and toasty (about ten minutes).
Sandwich done, belly full! A grilled cheese goes well with tomato soup sometimes, but I'm a freak and like to dip mine in ketchup, but anything will do!
There are also other options for grilled cheese, like chopping up a tomato or a bell pepper and putting them in the sandwich before cooking. It is also yummy to sprinkle garlic salt on the bread before cooking. So choose your weapon.

Wedding Dress Fun
So this was about two weeks ago, but I figured I should write about it anyway. I went wedding dress shopping with my mom and my friend Sarah (my bridesmaid Lyndsey showed up later), and it was okay. I think I found the dress, but everything leading up to it was kinda funny.
Sarah and my mom tag teamed me, and they made me wear heels, which I've never worn before, and don't intend on wearing at the wedding. I'm planning on wearing white Chuck Taylor's. Then there was the debacle with the boustier, which I had to have help with buttoning up, which caused my mother to make fun of my undies. I don't think my mom has seen my undies since I was five, so this was a bit awkward. Trying on the dresses was fun, but trying to walk out of the dressing room normally was awk, because I looked like a drunk every time I walked out. But I think I found the dress, and its totally different from what I thought I would like. I'm going back in a week and a half to buy it. The dress really isn't the most important thing to me, and I haven't been dreaming of a dress since I was little. I just care about getting married, all the other stuff is extra. I just hope my fiance and everyone else has a good time, and thats all that matters to me.

Just Another Day in the Salt Mills
So I've become a closer practically over night, since I'm doing it three times this week. This means that I never see my manger, which is a bit of a problem, because she doesn't get to see me work. So I can't prove myself to her, which really stinks because of what happened on Thursday (I really shouldn't talk about it). I'm just scared right now because I hear about these people being asked to step down left and right, and some people being fired, and it makes me scared because I hope I'm doing my job right. I'm pretty sure I am, but since she never sees me work, I can't get a good gage of if I'm doing my job right. I guess I just have to do my best and hope for the best.
